MAG boxes don’t use a username and password. They sign in with the box’s MAC address, so your account has to be set up for that box.
Step 1: Find your MAC address
The MAC address is printed on the sticker underneath or on the back of the box. On MAG boxes it starts with 00:1A:79, for example 00:1A:79:12:34:56. You can also find it on screen under Settings > System settings > Device info (or Info).
Step 2: Order with your MAC address
At checkout, choose MAG / STB box as your device and enter the MAC address in the MAC address field. Already ordered without it? Message us with your order number and MAC address before we set up your account.
An account is set up either for a MAC address or for username and password. It can’t be switched later, so tell us which one you need when you order.
Step 3: Add the portal URL
Your welcome email includes a portal URL for MAG boxes. Then:
- Turn on the box. When the portal screen appears, open Settings (on the remote, press SETUP/SET).
- Go to System settings > Servers > Portals.
- Set Portal 1 name to
rentIPTV. - Set Portal 1 URL to the portal URL from your email. Type it exactly, including
http://and the slash at the end. - Press OK to save, then go back and choose Restart portal (or switch the box off and on).
The box connects and loads live TV, movies and series.
Common messages
- “STB is blocked” or “Your STB is not supported”: the MAC address on our side doesn’t match your box. Send us a photo of the sticker.
- Stuck on “Loading portal”: check the portal URL for typos and make sure the box is connected to the internet (Settings > Network).
- Black screen on some channels: try another channel. If it’s one channel only, report it at
http://server1.rentiptv.com:8880/fix/.
Using Smart STB on a Smart TV
Smart STB makes a Smart TV behave like a MAG box and works the same way, using the virtual MAC address shown in the app. Smart STB guide.
