Buffering almost always comes from the connection between your device and the internet, not from the channel itself. Work through these steps in order and test a channel after each one.
1. Is it one channel or all of them?
- One channel: try another. If others play fine, that channel has a problem. Report it at
http://server1.rentiptv.com:8880/fix/. - All channels: carry on with this checklist.
2. Test your speed on the device you watch on
Open fast.com or speedtest.net in the device’s browser (or use the speed test in your IPTV app). You need about:
| Quality | Speed per screen |
|---|---|
| SD | 5 Mbps |
| HD | 10 Mbps |
| Full HD | 15–20 Mbps |
| 4K | 25 Mbps or more |
If several people are streaming or downloading at home, add their usage too.
3. Restart everything
Unplug the router and your TV device for 1 minute, plug the router back in first, wait until it’s fully on, then start the device.
4. Improve the connection
- Use an Ethernet cable if you can. It’s the single biggest improvement.
- On Wi-Fi, connect to the 5 GHz network and move the router or device closer together.
- For Fire TV Sticks, an Ethernet adapter costs very little and makes a big difference.
5. Clear the app’s cache
- Fire TV: Settings > Applications > Manage installed applications > your app > Clear cache.
- Android TV: Settings > Apps > your app > Storage > Clear cache.
Clear the cache, not the data, or you’ll need to sign in again.
6. Change the stream format or player
- IPTV Smarters: Settings > Stream format > try HLS (or MPEGTS if it was on HLS). Also try another player under Settings > Player selection.
- TiviMate: Settings > Playlists > your playlist > Stream format, or Settings > Playback > try a different decoder.
7. Check your device count
If more devices are watching than your plan allows, streams stop. How many devices can I use?
8. Try a lower quality version
If a 4K or FHD channel buffers, try the HD or SD version of the same channel.
9. Is your provider slowing IPTV?
If everything else on the internet is fast but IPTV buffers, especially during big matches, your provider may be throttling or blocking streams. Is my internet provider blocking IPTV?
10. Still buffering?
Contact us with the channel name, your device, your app and your speed test result. We’ll check the stream from our side.
Still stuck?
